E-invoice JSON for the IRP

Bahi Khata prepares the e-invoice file from your invoices and records the result. You upload the file on the portal, and the portal issues the IRN.

What it does

Export the invoices and credit notes you pick as the e-invoice JSON file the portal accepts. Credit notes go out as CRN with the original invoice named.
Every problem is listed by invoice and field before you download, so the portal does not reject them one by one.
A large batch is split into files of at most 1 MB and downloaded as one zip. One export holds up to 2000 documents.
Bring the portal result file back, preview what will happen to each invoice, then record it. The invoice then prints with its IRN and signed QR.

How it works

Check the readiness card in Settings. It lists what is missing, such as your PIN code or a buyer PIN code.
Open Sale, then E-invoices, and click Export for IRP. Set From and To, click Load, and tick the invoices you want.
Fix anything the check lists, then download the JSON file. Sales to customers without a GSTIN and bills of supply are left out.
Upload the file on the e-invoice portal. The portal answers with an IRN for each invoice, or an error for the ones it refuses.
Back on the E-invoices page, click Import IRP result, choose the portal file, click Preview, then Record.

What it does not do

Bahi Khata does not connect to the portal. You upload the file and download the result yourself.
It does not issue the IRN. Only the portal does.
It cannot check whether your GSTIN is enabled for e-invoicing. An admin ticks that on the readiness card, and until then the export stays off.
It does not cancel an IRN on the portal. You cancel there, then record the cancel in Bahi Khata.

Does Bahi Khata generate the IRN?

No. It builds the file you upload on the e-invoice portal. The portal issues the IRN, and you bring its result file back to record it.

Which invoices are in the export?

B2B invoices and credit notes you tick. Sales to customers without a GSTIN and bills of supply are left out.

What if the portal result does not match my invoice?

If an invoice changed after you exported it, nothing is recorded. Bahi Khata shows the figures that differ so you can fix the invoice and import again.
