Settle payments from a bank statement
Upload the Excel or CSV statement from your bank. Bahi Khata turns the money in and out into Payment In and Payment Out records after you review them.
What it does
- Upload the Excel or CSV statement. It is checked before anything is staged, and uploading the same statement twice does not add a line twice.
- Review one row per line, with a suggested party you can accept or change. Bank charges and interest are booked as expenses, and transfers between your own accounts are never written as payments.
- Assign lines to a customer or vendor, choose which invoices or bills the money pays, and keep any extra as an advance.
- Nothing is written until you press Settle. A panel shows what settling changes, month by month, before you confirm.
- Unlink one line, or undo a whole settle with your password, if something was wrong.
How it works
- Open Finance, then Bank Payments, and choose Upload statement. Name the bank account the first time.
- Review the list. Accept the suggestions you agree with, and use Assign for the rest.
- Tick the lines you want and check the panel that shows what settling changes.
- Press Settle. The result shows how many lines were paid to invoices or bills, booked as expense, linked, kept as advances or skipped.

Questions
Does it write payments before I check them?
No. Every line is shown for review first, and nothing is written until you press Settle.
Is my full bank account number stored?
No. Only the last four digits of the account are kept.
Can I undo a settle?
Yes, with your password. It deletes the payments and expenses that settle created and returns the lines to the review list. It is refused if undoing would push an invoice below zero paid.
